In 2000, I decided to take some time off from college and do some travelling while figuring out what to do with my life. A friend had introduced me to SWAP (Student Work Abroad Program) and after a single half-hour info session, my mind was made up. In July 2000, I packed my bags and flew to London, England. I spent 11 months in the UK, living and working in the Lake District and Edinburgh, Scotland. While I was there, I went to Germany for a week, toured Ireland and explored several English and Scottish cities on weekends away.
